FASHION INCUBATOR AT MACY'S DOWNTOWN-METRO CENTER
Supporting An Emerging Creative Community

One of several incubator projects administered and operated by the DC Fashion Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization that seeks to foster Washington D.C.'s fashion community, the Fashion Incubator supports the local emerging fashion industry by providing training, mentoring, and work space for fashion entrepreneurs to execute their vision and maintain a sustainable business.

Located in an existing storage room in Macy's Downtown-Metro Center, the space of the future Incubator needs to accommodate individual and shared studio workspace for six designers-in-Residence, as well as a conference room for private mentoring and meetings. It is also necessary for the Incubator suite to remain flexible to accommodate public events such as pop-up shops, trunk shows, exhibits, and fundraisers.

Scope of work includes a conceptual design proposal that provides an efficient and flexible layout that could accommodate a range of private and public events.
